Marriage and Family Therapy

Marriage and Family Therapy is provided mainly from a Systems Theory perspective, but has some eclectic influence.

The marriage or family unit is seen as "the client", not the individuals themselves. We are treating the whole, not the individuals. This is something we stress continually throughout the process.

In cases of domestic violence or abuse, the above process is modified depending on the situation, where normal therapeutic alliance cannot be established with an abusive individual/perpetrator. Individual therapy most likely would be recommended until clear understanding of the abuse cycle and contributions to it are clearly identified and being actively addressed.

Individual therapy or other treatment options are also recommended in situations of addictions and marital infidelity.
